We were all gathered in CBC's parking lot by 6:00 am, luggage loaded and circled up for prayer with Pastor Jan, Keith Brenner, and Sharon Futch, and by 6:10 am we were on the road. Our fearless leaders announced that there would be positively no stopping until we got to the airport in DC . . . so we only stopped for one potty break. :-).jpg)
We arrived at the airport between 9 and 9:30, checked in, and headed to our gate to wait. As it happened, our flight had been delayed, so instead of leaving at 11:35 am as planned, we left closer to 12:30 pm.
Our next flight was to leave around 3:20 pm, so we were a little nervous about the projected arrival time in Miami, and wondered if we would have enough time to make our connection. When we deplaned in Miami, we power-walked to our next gate, only to find that flight had also been delayed.
Now we are still
waiting for our flight, which was supposed to have left at 3:20 pm . . . it is 4:42 pm and they are looking for a plane for us because the original had mechanical issues. Silver lining in this cloud: we are glad they are giving us a plane without mechanical issues!***********************************
We are now on the final leg of our journey, leaving Miami only 10 minutes before we were originally due to arrive in Quito. We are already receiving lessons in patience and flexibility! The young ladies have waited and gotten along well today, and so have us "young-at-heart" ladies! At the moment, we are looking forward to DINNER! :-)
